Kettle Creek Battlefield Commemoration

February 11, 2012

From 9 t0 11 AM, there will be thirty historical presentation taking place all over Washington, followed by a parade and a dramatic portrayal of the Battle itself.  In the afternoon, pageantry continues at the Battlefield, with Colonial troops, Georgia militia, fife and drum music, and battlefield tours conducted by US Army historians from Fort Gordon.  We've been told that this is one of the finest historical presentations anywhere in Georgia, and it's fun for all ages!

Annual Spring Tour of Homes

March 30 and 31, 2012

Please join us for an enchanting weekend in Historic Washington for the annual Washington Spring Tour of Homes.  The weekend will begin on Friday evening with the romantic Candlelight Tour.  Stroll down our lovely streets while you visit private homes decked out in the full-bloom beauty of the Piedmont Spring!

Friday evening, there will be at least five private homes open to you to visit and chat with the owners about the history of Washington.

On Saturday,  a whole different selection of homes will be open for you to tour.  (Washington Plantation was included in this tour many times through the years.)  One great thing about the Spring Tour is that you can leave your car in the driveway and be chauffeured around to all the houses by Tour volunteers!

It's truly a wonderful weekend in Washington.  Let Washington Plantation be your tour headquarters!  For folks coming for the Tour, we'll offer a 10% discount when we see your tickets.

Go to www.wwtourofhomes.com for tickets and more information, or call the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce (706 678-5111).
